The Dramatic Representation of Suicide: Issues, Concerns and Guidelines

The presenters of this session have a range of authorial, production & evaluation expertise in regard to dramatic performances in the health area. In this session they discussed some of the representational problem areas with respect to suicide. These were explored in tandem with discussions of the outcomes of recent team-led evaluations of suicide-related performace projects in New South Wales & Queensland. Some notable recommendations & guidelines for the safe presentation of suicide in drama were offered along with a simple safety test for would-be dramatists.
