Mental Health Promotion and Suicide Prevention in Victoria: a Rural and Urban Perspective

This session presented information on an innovative project by Victoria Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services. The project placed a mental health promotion officer in each of the service regions across the state. These workers provided a bridge between mental health & the larger community, maintaining a place for mental health in the service network, providing information, consultation, & support to those who work with young people at risk. Both rural & urban practice outcomes were discussed.
