This presentation discussed findings from a psychological autopsy study conducted in the Western Suburbs of Sydney between January-September 1998. The study was uncontrolled & involved interviews with families, friends & relevant health professionals. The findings of the study highlight the fact suicide is the result of a personal, mental, & social dimension where the interactions of these factors need to be considered & understood in order to implement appropriate & targeted prevention strategies.
