Supporting and Educating Parents: a Useful Strategy for Youth Suicide Prevention

This presentation reviewed the existing literature on the relationship between parenting & youth suicide. Data from a recent national study was presented & the role of parents in facilitating the development of adolescent resilience, competency, & coping was explored. The literature on parent support & parent education as strategies to prevent youth suicide was critically examined.
