MindMatters: a Whole School Approach to Mental Health Promotion

The framework of strategies of MindMatters – the National Mental Health in Schools Project was presented in this workshop. The project aims to develop the psychosocial health of secondary students via a comprehensive school-based mental health promotion program. Workshop participants sampled activities from the project & addressed issues pertinent to generating commitment to a whole school approach. Issues for schools that arose in addressing the draft suicide guidelines were explored.
