Primary Prevention of Suicide in Australia: First National Stocktake of Youth Suicide Prevention Activities

This article provides an analysis of primary prevention activities identified in the first National Stocktake of Youth Suicide Prevention Programs and Activities. The aims of the analysis are to identify & describe the diverse range of primary prevention activities; to identify areas of strength & weakness in this endeavour; & to raise questions worthy of further investigation. The analysis focuses on 3 main fields from the Stocktake database: populations & risk factors targeted; the types of organizations involved; & the main interventions used. (17 refs.)
