This article provides an overview of the National Youth Suicide Prevention Strategy in Australia. The goals, philosophy, & activities of the project are outlined. There are two levels of activities: 1) systemic level activities including inputs, identification & dissemination of good practice, policy & planning, education & training, & networking & intersectoral collaboration; & 2) direct suicide prevention activities including injury prevention, primary prevention & cultural change, crisis intervention & primary care, support & postvention, community development & support, & indigenous, specialised, & culturally diverse approaches.
