“Out of the Blues” is an Australian national demonstration project providing a service for young people who are suffering from a depressive disorder & are consequently at risk of self-harm & suicide. This project encourages clinicians to provide optimum access to therapeutic services & an ongoing therapeutic alliance in their relationship with clients. The application of these practices is described in a case study which demonstrates how theory translates into daily one-to-one practice. (4 refs.)
