This study investigated whether self-harm incidents by incarcerated persons which were classified as manipulative would also be classified as being of low suicidal intent & low risk to life. The data of 74 prisoners who had self-harmed was compiled within 3 days of the incident. The data did not support the notion that manipulators & suicide attempters are mutually exclusive groups.
