This letter to the editor raises a number of questions about a study by Reid et al in 1998. This study suggested that clozapine might have a protective effect against suicide for patients with schizophrenia. Serynak & his colleagues believe that few conclusions should be drawn from the data as it is presented. They say that the Reid study does illustrates the need for more definitive research.
