In this letter to the editor, the case of a 9-year-old girl with severe mania is reported. There was a family history of mood disorders, rages, eccentric irritability & suicide. The patient was eventually treated with quetiapine & experienced a complete remission of her manic symptoms. A number of clinical questions regarding treatment are also raised. (2 refs.)
