A Comparison of Selected Suicide Risk Factors and Pathological Gambling Characteristics

This workshop examined suicide risk factors among problem & pathological gamblers including: accumulation & magnitude of stress, alcoholism, breakup of relationships, depression, sleep problems, disruptive social relations, feeling overwhelmed, history of losses, hopelessness, impulsiveness, intolerable psychological pain, job loss or demotion, lack of available support system, legal problems, gender, not confiding in others, familial suicide, prior suicide attempt & social isolation.
