This study examined associations between a series of risk factors, explored the joint relationships between these factors & vulnerability to suicide, & compared risk factors for suicide across the lifespan. A consecutive sample of 202 individuals who died by suicide were compared with 1028 randomly selected control subjects. In general, results suggest that similar etiologic factors are involved in suicide over the life course but the contribution & significance of these vary with age.
