27 suicide notes from 267 consecutive adolescent suicides were analyzed for spelling & handwriting errors. The suicide notes were dictated to adolescents with learning disabilities & adolescent non-learning disabled controls. 89% of the 27 adolescents who completed suicide had significant deficits in spelling & handwriting similar to those of the learning disabled adolescents. They were significantly more impaired than the controls & a sample of older adults who had completed suicide.
