A theoretical model for predicting adolescent suicide behavior was examined for 2 separate populations of students. The model was based on relevant research literature & was examined through path analysis for the total population & by gender. The relationships among 4 predictor variables were studied. The second study was found the validate the results of the first, & included the finding that depression had a direct effect on suicide risk, self-esteem, & hopelessness. More research is needed.
