Research on stress, depression & suicide among adolescents with learning disabilities is reviewed from the risk-resilience perspective. Reasons why these adolescents may be at increased risk of suicide are discussed. Data indicate that certain subgroups among adolescents with learning disabilities manifest higher rates of depression; some evidence also supports an increased suicide risk. Methodological problems are discussed in light of the need for research on suicide & learning disabilities.
