Through psychological autopsy, 7 cases of physician suicide were studied. None of the victims had had adequate treatment with antidepressant or mood-stabilizing drugs, nor had they been in psychotherapy. The authors think it is possible that families, colleagues, & even the treating physicians of doctors, are less inclined to recognize high-risk conditions in doctors.
