In this letter, Dr. Lanny Berman responds to Chris Cantor on the subject of adolescent suicide. Berman writes shortly after the homicide-suicide of 15 youth in Littleton Colorado, using the case as an example of peer influence and negative sub-culture groupings. Berman feels that these sub-culture groups influence suicidal ideation through rejecting societal norms. He invites Cantor to respond to this article by forming a new discussion on attachment issues in adolescents.
