This study was conducted in 1995, comparing suicidal adolescents to their nonsuicidal peers. Students of both sexes between 14-19 years were surveyed from 92 high schools in Slovenia. 48% of the suicidal students reported personal problems, compared to 13.7% of the controls. 62% of control students reported physical activity more than twice a week, compared to 49.5% for attempters. 15.7% of attempters had divorced parents compared to 8.9% of non-attempters.
