This editorial describes the creation of the Young Europeans Suicide Study (YESS) group, a network composed of six suicidology centers in Ireland, Switzerland, Belgium, Slovenia, Sweden and Israel. YESS shares findings on suicide among adolescents aged 15 to 18. The group originated at the 1997 World Phsychiatry Association Confrence in Geneva. This article describes the conception of YESS and gives findings of the group in comparing adolescent suicide statistics from country to country.
