This journal article presents the newly developed Self Harm Inventory test (SHI), an assessment tool that identifies self destructive behaviours and borderline personality disorders. Tests using SHI show that the Inventory correctly diagnosed those with self harming behaviours among previously diagnosed control groups. This article describes the initial testing procedures, demographics of each control group, test results and gives an example of the test for clinician reproduction and use.
