In this article, David Lester documents his life and work in the field of suicidology. Although initially a physics major, Lester began studying psychology in 1963 and eventually wrote his major dissertion on suicide. He is accredited with the creation of the Crisis Intervention journal and the formation of the Richard Stockton State College Phsychology Program where he is still employed. He currently attends national and international suicide symposiums, continuing to contribute to the field.
