This article addresses the ethics of Registered Nurses (RN’s) in euthanasia and assisted-suicide cases. Topics include the use/misuse of the “living will” (or advanced directive code), a study of RN’s ethical change towards euthanasia and assisted suicide from 1988 to 1998, doctors that intentionally respond slowly to resuscitation events to cause death, and a continuing education test entitled “Ethics On The Job: When Is It Time To Die?”, designed to test the current viewpoints of RN’s.
