This study compares the often misdiagnosed Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BBD) with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).Fifty-three patients with BDD, OCD or both, were tested to isolate each disorder. Results show that BDD patients are often treated as OCD patients, and are more prone to suicidal ideation and attempts. This study contains the methods of testing each subject, statistical results, post study discussions, variance among the two disorders and definitions of each disorders symptoms.
