This research paper is part of a large Chicago based study on schizophrenia and other mental disorders. This report compares the effects of depression in schizophrenia patients to those patients that present without depressive symptoms. Topics also include post hospital care and reoccurence of disorders in depressed schizophrenics (based on a cross section of 70 physciatry patients). Depression coupled with schizophrenia can often be a leading cause of suicidal tendencies among patients.
