This article, from a faculty member’s point of view, describes the suicide of a nursing student. Haines recounts how this student had expressed anxiety to her but that she had not pursued it further as she did not want to “pry.” After this experience, however, Haines now realizes the importance in intervening, in discussing suicide openly, especially if it may save a life.
