The SPAN (Suicide Prevention Advocacy Network) plan is explained. SPAN is a nonprofit organization that bridges survivors of suicide with leaders in various areas to promote change. At SPAN’s National Suicide Prevention Conference, the development of an effective National Suicide Prevention Strategy was discussed. Themes considered at this conference (e.g. public education, media, detection of illness), and subsequent recommendations for each theme, are included in this kit.
