Three letters to the editor on an article entitled Physician-Assisted Suicide & Euthanasia in the United States are given. In the first, Hendin cites Oregon studies which show that very few physicians obtain written consent or second opinions before giving patients lethal injections. Goold questions why 97% of those in the study who received prescriptions for lethal doses of medication were men. Meier et al, the authors of the article, reply to the first two letters.
