This article details the life of Bruno Bettelheim, an author who eventually committed suicide when he was 86. After his release from the concentration camp Dachau in 1939, he left for America, and married. He taught in colleges in Chicago, set up schools, worked with mentally retarded children, and wrote articles for both journals & magazines. By the end of the 60’s, health problems had caught up to him. His wife died in 1983. Bettelheim committed suicide in a nursing home in 1990.
