This pamphlet provides information on Alberta’s Mental Health System. A brief history is given on the role of asylums, general hospitals & community alternatives in treating mental disorders. Reforming the mental health system is discussed, including why this should be done, current facts, and features of the mental health system of the future. Problems for reformation include disagreement over the reallocation of money within the system. 6 recommendations for the future are listed.
