The purpose of this session was to develop a model which would help to harmonize consumer (attempters & survivors) interests in dealing with suicide & mental disability, & by positive interaction & support reduce the incidence of suicide & alleviate the emotional & economic costs. The session was consumer driven & reviewed an evaluated Sydney experiment which sought to assess the way in which consumer perceptions of needs for community services could best be served by professionals.
