This session addressed issues pertaining to adolescent females, with particular reference to how they perceive themselves. The focus was on body image, self-esteem, gender equity, & issues regarding young women’s ability to recognise their emotional needs. The interplay of these factors in the evoluation of affective disorders, self-harming & suicidal behaviours was examined, along with strategies for prevention.
