The author’s agency conducted research into suicide among gay, bisexual & lesbian youth due to the anecdotal evidence & foreign research which suggests these youth are at high risk of suicide. It was found that coroner’s reports do not fully explore sexuality as a contributing factor. Where files doe highlight concerns or discrimination related to homosexuality, this factor has been vastly underrated. Recommendations were made for improving data collection, research, & prevention programs.
