A model for assessing the targeting of prevention & intervention programs was presented. The model is an adaptation of an Ecological Competence model. Its primary use is as an aide for planning prevention strategies & for assessing them at the funding level. The model has a capacity to focus on the intervention or program’s ability to improve the competence of the individuals/communities it targets. Funding agencies can use the model to see where there are gaps in prevention strategies.
