Drawing on case studies, qualitative research using family narratives, & research statistics, the author constructs a background against which suicidal behaviour can be perceived as an understandable response to isolation, neglect, conflict & social disruption. The complex web of prejudice surrounding society’s view of suicide is investigated. Strategies for intervention based on a systemic understanding of the problem are proposed.
