Victim-precipitated homicide, or suicide by cop is one example. In British Columbia, suicide by cop factors in half of all of the lethal threats faced by police. Many victims made suicidal statements or had documented mental illnesses prior to their death. 3 case studies of suicide by cop in BC are given.
