Suicide by other means while driving a vehicle is not very common. This article reports the case of an 18-year-old woman who shot herself while driving. A suicide note was found in her purse. She had been chronically depressed & had twice attempted suicide. Vehicular suicides may constitute 10-30% of fatal single-vehicle crashes. It is suggested that an autopsy should be performed in each of these cases in order to certify vehicular accidents correctly. (10 refs.)
