Information is introduced in the risk/benefit debate of gun ownership that may not have been considered. Kleck suggests that focusing studies on gun ownership in the home is too narrow as most gun usage (beneficial & harmful) takes place out of the home. Defensive & aggressive uses of guns are also discussed, with studies suggesting that defensive gun use prevents injury. Methodological problems in recent case-control studies for correlation between guns & injuries are noted. (17 refs.)
