This article outlines the theoretical concept of suicidal behaviour which was developed at the Moscow Psychiatric Research Institute & has been in use there for the last two decades. Suicidal behaviour is considered an action that has as its concrete goal the cessation of life but is also incorporated into a broader system of activities with other motives. The paper concentrates of what differentiates the model from traditional Western management without making judgments about either approach.
