All persons with Huntington’s chorea in the lower penisula of Michigan as of April 1, 1940 were studied. 203 subjects in 124 kindreds were identified. There were no suicides among subjects who were in institutions, but there were 12 suicides in male & female choreics who were not institutionalized. The 6 male suicides ranged in age from 37 to 50, & the age of female victims ranged from 30 to 78. There were 3 suicides among non-choreic individuals. (21 refs.)
