Abstract
Seasons and Meteorological Factors in Suicidal Behaviour: Findings and Methodological Considerations From a Danish Study
Jessen G~~Steffensen P~~Jensen B F
The results of a pilot study in Denmark which focused on seasonal & meteorological factors in suicidal behaviours are reported. Methodological problems are also addressed. All suicides in the county of Funen over the period 1970-1993 were studied. Results confirm those of previous studies, especially concerning the spring peak & a decreasing tendency throughout the week with significantly fewer suicides on weekends. Climatological factors might have had an impact on suicidal behaviours.
