This study mapped the locus of maximal change in receptor binding in suicide victims. Alterations in binding to the serotonin transporter, 5-HT(1A), and the 5-HT(2A) receptors in the ventral/ventrolateral prefrontal cortex of victims were found. Implications for in vivo imaging mean that studies should be directed towards the ventrolateral prefrontal cortex. Limitations & other alternatives arising from the research in this paper are given.
