A questionnaire designed to assess attitudes to suicide was administered to 525 Israeli adolescents. Analysis indicated that attitude items could be grouped into 4 distinct factors each of which was differentially associated with various psychosocial measures. The association between attitude factors & subjects’ suicidal ideation was significant & at least as strong as that of the psychosocial factors normally associated with adolescent suicide, i.e. gender & exposure to suicide.
