Two letters to the editor about Dr. Coulehan’s article “The Man with Stars Inside” are included. The article was a discussion on physician-assisted suicide & palliative care. The first writer believes that in order to better treat pain one must focus not only on its physiologic aspect but also its psychological, spiritual, religious & social aspects. The second writer believes that physicians must improve their communication with patients and that training in this area should be provided.
