Survey ’93. The Medical Post National Survey of Canadian Doctors: Second Annual Survey Supplement
The health of Canadian physicians is the topic of this article. Physicians that have addiction problems, depression or mental illnesses are often unacknowledged by their colleagues which can worsen their condition. Statistics for the percentage of doctors that have had depression, suicidal thoughts, & have undergone psychotherapy are given. A greater effort should be made to deal empathetically with doctors with mental illnesses.
