Physician-Assisted Death and Pharmacy Practice in The Netherlands

This letter to the editor reports the results of a survey of Dutch pharmacists & their attitudes toward euthanasia & physician-assisted suicide. Anonymous questionnaires were sent twice to a random sample of 50% of community pharmacies & to all hospital pharmacies. Most respondents agreed with the concept of euthansia (94%) & physician-assisted suicide (91%), & most would dispense drugs for these purposes (95%). A table provides data on the number of requests received & the drugs dispensed.
