It is hypothesized that the function of suicidal behaviours & Muenchausen’s Syndrome are different. A study tested the hypothesis by comparing subjects with a diagnosis of Muenchausen’s Syndrome & matched controls. This poster presented some results: Meunchausen Syndrome subjects were more often female, they had contact with more medical professionals or medical systems, they often received similar treatments at different hospitals, they were socially isolated & had poor coping skills.
