The advantages & disadvantages of postmortem studies of suicide victims were described in this poster presentation. It was noted that recent studies have overcome many of the methodological problems & have provided valuable data about the biochemical abnormalities present in the brain of suicide victims. Some of the new information generated by these studies was highlighted. The future direction of postmortem studies of suicide was discussed.
