This poster considered educational exceptionality from a developmental psychopathology standpoint, looking at risks & resiliencies associated with being either learning disabled or gifted. The effects of other risk factors were also examined. The aims of this session were to argue for an understanding of educational exceptionality as a risk factor in the early adolescent context & to offer strategies for those working with young people in this stage of developmental transition.
