Data System for Monitoring “Good” Practice in the Hospital Management of Deliberate Self Harm

The Royal Perth Hospital, along with 2 others, have been using a computerized database to collect information on demographics, the nature of the presenting problem, precipitating factors, hospital treatment & follow-up plans for suicide attempters/self-harmers. Data are presented annually to Western Australia’s Youth Suicide Advisory Committee. This poster described the role of the Youth Self Harm Social Worker & how this fits with other services provided by the Youth Suicide Advisory Committee.
